Tractor Supply Company is currently hiring for our 2027 Supply Chain Supply Chain Development Program at our Store Support Center located in Brentwood, TN!

 

The Supply Chain Development Program (SCDP) is a 12-month rotational program designed for upcoming and recent college graduates interested in launching a career in supply chain. The program provides participants with broad exposure to Tractor Supply's end-to-end supply chain while building the technical skills, business acumen, and leadership capabilities needed for long-term success.

 

Throughout the program, trainees complete structured rotations across key Supply Chain functions, including Distribution Operations, Transportation, Supply Chain Planning, Inventory Management, Merchandise Planning, and Distribution Center Engineering. Each rotation combines hands-on experience, structured learning, mentorship, and meaningful project work. Trainees will develop an understanding of Tractor Supply's business, culture, systems, and supply chain operations while building the skills and relationships needed to pursue future opportunities within the nation's largest rural lifestyle retailer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

  • Complete structured rotational assignments across Supply Chain functions, including Distribution Operations, Transportation, Supply Chain Planning, Inventory Management, Merchandise Planning, and Distribution Center Engineering. 
  • Gain firsthand operational exposure through experiences within Tractor Supply stores and distribution centers. 
  • Build, analyze, and maintain reports that support operational decision-making, inventory productivity, and overall business performance. 
  • Contribute to meaningful projects and hands-on assignments aligned with departmental and enterprise priorities. 
  • Partner with and shadow experienced Team Members to develop an understanding of supply chain operations, systems, tools, and best practices. 
  • Apply analytical skills, retail math, and operational knowledge to identify trends, solve business challenges, and recommend solutions. 
  • Participate in structured learning focused on supply chain systems, technical capabilities, business acumen, and professional development. 
  • Develop skills in areas such as strategic thinking, communication, change management, time management, and personal accountability. 
  • Present project outcomes, insights, and recommendations to leaders and cross-functional business partners. 
  • Apply feedback and demonstrate continued growth while taking on progressively greater responsibility throughout the program. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Logistics, Finance, or a related field, completed or to be completed prior to the program start date. 
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel. 
  • Demonstrated leadership through internships, work experience, campus involvement, extracurricular activities, or other experiences. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to organize information, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel for rotational experiences, including time within distribution centers and stores. 
  • Demonstrated interest in building a career in supply chain, retail, logistics, or operations. 

 

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

  • Internship or previous experience in supply chain, retail, logistics, operations, analytics, or related areas. 
  • Foundational knowledge of supply chain concepts, retail math, inventory management, or operational performance metrics. 
  • Experience analyzing data, building reports, or working with data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar platforms. 
  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to learning new systems, processes, and areas of the business. 
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively across functions. 
  • High level of accountability, adaptability, and interest in building a long-term career within Tractor Supply Company's Supply Chain organization.
