Overall Job Summary
The Strategic Partnerships Account Manager to identify, develop, negotiate, launch, and grow strategic partnerships that expand Allivet's distribution channels and accelerate revenue growth.
This Manager will own the partnership lifecycle—from identifying prospective partners and building business cases through contract negotiations, implementation, launch, and long-term account growth. The role will be responsible for presenting to C-suite executives, developing financial models, collaborating across multiple departments, and driving results through influence.
This role partners closely with Executive Leadership, Marketing, Operations, Legal, Product, Technology, Finance, and Customer Experience to deliver innovative pharmacy solutions including affiliate programs, white-label partnerships, employer programs, strategic alliances, and enterprise accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Identify, qualify, and develop strategic partnership opportunities across pet health, retail, insurance, veterinary, employer, and affiliate channels.
- Develop prospect strategies and lead the sales process from initial outreach through signed agreement.
- Build executive-level relationships with prospective partners.
- Conduct discovery sessions to understand customer needs and identify growth opportunities.
- Develop compelling presentations, business cases, and partnership proposals.
- Create financial models, pricing strategies, ROI analyses, and commercial recommendations.
- Lead contract negotiations in partnership with Legal and Executive Leadership.
- Serve as the executive relationship owner for strategic partners.
- Develop Joint Business Plans focused on customer acquisition, revenue growth, retention, and profitability.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing partnerships through new products, marketing initiatives, and technology integrations.
- Monitor partner performance and recommend strategies to improve KPIs.
- Lead cross-functional implementation teams through partner onboarding and launch.
- Coordinate with Marketing, Operations, Technology, Customer Experience, Finance, Legal, and Product teams to ensure successful execution.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and implementation milestones.
- Manage executive communications and stakeholder updates.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and emerging partnership opportunities.
- Develop revenue forecasts and business cases.
- Measure partnership performance against established KPIs.
- Present recommendations and business updates to senior leadership.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve the sales process and partner experience.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience in Business Development, Strategic Partnerships, Enterprise Sales, Account Management, Consulting, or related experience. Experience with contract negotiations preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or equivalent experience. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Professional Certifications: None required
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
- Experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing strategic customer relationships.
- Demonstrated success developing new business opportunities and growing existing partnerships.
- Strong financial acumen with experience building business cases, pricing models, and ROI analyses.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and executive communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
- Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Affiliate marketing, white-label partnerships and joint business planning preferred.
- Knowledge of CRM (Salesforce preferred).
- Animal Health, Healthcare, Pharmacy, Retail, eCommerce, SaaS, or Insurance experience preferred.
