Director, Final Mile and Delivery Experience - Field Operations
Overall Job Summary
This position oversees the final mile delivery, product know-how, and white glove services for all residential and B2B digital orders fulfilled on-line, in-store, and thru direct sales across all modes of transportation including parcel, LTL, crowd sourcing, and team member delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Lead the final mile delivery experience field teams, including regional and local management, for approximately ½ the country for both team member delivery and all third party deliveries
- Develop and implement bulk delivery solutions to support company strategy and sales initiatives targeting pro consumers, fairs, shows, zoos as well as other business and government customers.
- Manages a multi-million dollar budget, P&L, and Capex
- Ensure industry leading customer satisfaction scores for delivery experiences
- Provides overall fleet management including drivers, routing, scheduling, equipment, maintenance and repair.
- Designs training protocol, best practices, and management for safety and white glove services including driving, product knowledge, installation, assembly, stocking, and returns management.
- Create efficiencies thru increases in scheduling, utilization and optimization performance
- Drive continuous improvement for an enhanced delivery experience with technology, processes, services, and program features.
- Collaborates cross functionally with the customer service, store operations, distribution, transportation, marketing, IT, and procurement teams to build strong relationships, legendary customer experiences, and financial outcomes.
- Recruit, train, retain and develop the delivery experience team including drivers and leadership within TSC Mission, Values, and competencies.
- Manage people and equipment demand needs and scheduling processes over multiple time horizons including short medium, and long term
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local delivery laws and regulations
Required Qualifications
Experience: 8+ years related experience in supply chain management, e-commerce, delivery merchandising, field operations, logistics, transportation, or inventory management preferably in a retail environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Finance, Business, Applied Math, Statistics or related field. MBA preferred but not required. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
- Outstanding Leadership skills.
- Extensive knowledge of WMS and LMS applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Understanding of Strategic Planning processes.
- Capable of working in a cross-functional environment.
- Ability to travel approx. 50% of the time, Emergency travel may be required without notice based on business need.
