Overall Job Summary
The Small Engine Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on various equipment, including hydraulics systems, generators, mowers, chainsaws, garden tillers, and/or compressor pumps-single/two stage. This position will play a crucial role in the reliability and functionality of equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnosis and repair work on hydraulics systems, generators, mowers, chainsaws, garden tillers, and/or compressor pumps-single/two stage
- Provide effective communication with customers, vendors partners, tech support, and team members
- Perform diagnostic assessments to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and technical issues
- Complete work orders and estimates
- Ability to use the computer to do online training, look up parts, and order parts
- Work in a safe and efficient manner
- Continually seek both technical and product training when available
Required Qualifications
Experience: Preferred experience with hydraulics systems, generators, mowers, chainsaws, garden tillers, and/or compressor pumps-single/two stage repairs
Education: High school diploma required, technical or vocational education preferred
Professional Certifications: Certification in small engine repair; 2 and 4 cycle gas engines
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
- Effective communication, phone, computer, and problem-solving skills.
- Sound time management and multi-tasking skills
Working Conditions
- Indoor floors and outdoor lots generally are hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, etc.) lighting and temperature are adequate.
- Occasional travel to stores, distribution centers, and other business locations
