Director, IT Network Engineering & Telecom
Overall Job Summary
The Director of IT Network Transformation Engineering & Telecom is responsible for the architecture, design, implementation and support of the enterprise network and telecommunication services. The role will lead the network and telecommunications teams in multiple cross-functional projects delivering value in areas of network engineering, telecommunications, cloud connectivity, network security, and remote access connectivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Provides design and engineering leadership in network transformation via technologies such as SD-WAN, automation, orchestration, and network virtualization
- Develops and maintains policies, procedures, and documentation to adapt to new technologies and business requirements.
- Ensures 24x7 & always-available infrastructure to meet the high traffic needs and strive to eliminate downtime and improve the manageability of services
- Establishes and maintains influential working relationships at all levels necessary to successfully promote and deliver technology strategies and innovation opportunities.
- Responsible for budget oversight, forecasting and management for enterprise network and telecommunication services.
- Negotiate and oversee contracted vendor support services related to infrastructure, hardware and managed services functions.
- Stay abreast of technological advances and continuously research better ways to accomplish tasks, integrate new technologies, and secure the networking environment.
- Maximize automation to improve speed and quality while relentlessly driving low-value, repetitive work out of our operational activities.
- Responsible for performing frequent network trending and analysis and making recommendations and changes accordingly to maximize performance and minimize costs.

SD-WAN, Automation, Public and Private Cloud Technologies
Platform Knowledge
Strong working knowledge of Juniper/Cisco/Aruba Platforms preferred
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
- Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions and strategic application to business needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate to technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Proven track record and experience in developing information technology policies and procedures, as well as successfully executing programs that meet the objectives of excellence in a dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of network security standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and Payment Card Industry/Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS)
- Exhibit excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives.
- Project management skills: financial/budget management, scheduling and resource management.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.
- Experience with contract and vendor negotiations.
