Overall Job Summary
The Analyst, Strategy & Development will own workstreams within cross-functional projects tackling key strategic initiatives such as the Fusion and Garden Center remodel program. A successful analyst will work cross-functionally to develop a work plan, gather data, perform various analyses against specific opportunities, and ultimately provide value-creating recommendations to Tractor Supply business leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Organic strategic initiative execution: work on cross-functional project teams to manage and execute top-priority strategic initiatives.
- Support long-term strategy development, identify and prioritize business opportunities/projects.
- Drive specific corporate (Mergers & Acquisitions) and business (partnership) development activities.
- Provide thought leadership and oversee various business intelligence activities.
- Expected to become an expert over time in farm and ranch retail, and use this knowledge to inform our efforts.
- Responsible for working with 3rd party consulting organizations and external vendors as required.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
- 0 – 3 years of related experience
- Full-time work experience and/or internships in retail or consumer packaged goods (CPG), consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, project management, program management, and/or corporate development a plus
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience working with and influencing stakeholders well above own tenure / level, as well as Team Members in very different roles (e.g., front-line) a plus.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
- Strong analytical skills and financial literacy, including knowledge of Excel modelling, knowledge of other quantitative or statistical packages a plus.
- Ability to create executive level presentation materials to inform decisions, especially within PowerPoint.
- Comfort with (and excitement about) highly ambiguous problems, cross-functional teamwork, and regularly shifting priority set.
- Ability to foster strong internal relationships with stakeholders across the business to partner on initiatives and provide ongoing advisory support.
- Well-developed communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Passion for retail.
