Overall Job Summary
This position is responsible for analyzing and defining SAP financial systems functions, business processes and user needs. This position requires good knowledge of SAP Finance (FICO) solutions like general ledger (GL), accounts payable (AP), inventory management, material management interface to finance (MM/FI), fixed assets (FA), and project systems and investment management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Perform and coordinate configuration changes for applications in the area of responsibility.
- Define, analyze, and evaluate existing business functions and processes and make recommendations to management on opportunities for process improvements.
- Participate in the execution of test cases as part of the Quality Assurance process.
- Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team. This includes creating process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to the team.
- Review system design plans for reasonableness and fit with the business requirements.
- Provide orientation to end users for modifications to existing processes and new functionality.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 0-2 years of experience supporting SAP Finance (FICO) solutions. Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology is preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Accounting, Management Information Systems, or related field is preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
- Knowledge and experience in supporting users in SAP system modules.
- Good knowledge of the material management interface to financial (MM/FI), as related to invoices.
- Knowledge of logistic invoice verification and 3-way match in SAP MM/AP
- Understanding of basic principles of SAP material management systems modules such as inventory management (MM), investment management (IM), and software development (SD).
- Skilled at supporting period-end close and year end close processes
- Knowledge of I-Docs as related to FICO.
- Ability to learn, develop, and maintain report writer/painter reports in FICO.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload prioritization in order to deliver high quality work products on time with minimal direction.
- Good communication, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills.
