Overall Job Summary
The Omni-Channel Associate Merchant is responsible to drive e-commerce sales and profitability for selected lines of business to achieve yearly sales and profitability objectives through online merchandising initiatives and responsibilities.
- Provide strategy and tactical execution of e-commerce merchandising initiatives for selected lines of business
- Plan and merchandise product on the website and in all promotional channels for selected lines of business with appropriate operational execution and business analysis to ensure sales and margin objectives are attained
- Drive promotional marketing calendar creation and execution on website and in marketing channels
- Serve as primary point of contact for internal TSC e-commerce, merchandising, marketing and operations partners to build strong working partnerships for all online and omni-channel initiatives
- Serve as primary point of contact for vendor partners for assortment planning, promotional planning, partnership management and business initiatives
This position reports to an Omni-Channel Merchant and works closely with the TSC Buying Divisions in an effort to enhance the website with additional product opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Merchandise & Financial Management – Oversight of specific product categories sold on-line and financial accountability for sales, gross margin dollars/rate and inventory performance. Development of a multi-year plan that supports a long tail of products to support endless aisle concept. Identify and prioritize vendor drop ship relative to the assigned merchandising division. Work closely with store merchandising management & buying teams in Attending Shows, Vendor Meetings and Divisional Meetings.
- Marketing – Participates in marketing planning and execution. Completes promo price loading and verifying price ownership. Proof ads in stage environment to ensure offers and links are correct Provides direction for paid search & SEO opportunities.
- Strategic Planning – Responsible for the strategic merchandising direction on the website for assigned merchandise categories. Assists in the development and execution of the divisional merchandising initiatives.
- Sales forecasting and inventory monitoring – Partner with inventory management and merchandising teams for required forecasting of e-commerce sales based on business analysis, trends, and anticipated growth. Ensure that appropriate inventory is allocated to support forecasted sales for products in assortment. Monitor and manage product out-of-stock rates with inventory management, merchandising, and vendor partners as needed.
- Pricing – Conduct competitive analysis to determine opportunities for assortment growth and pricing. Report out on findings to the merchandising team. Utilize the Competitive Pricing Tool to recommend and set selling retails.
- Reporting – Pulls, prepares and analyze reports from BO, SAP, ATLAS or Merchandising systems as needed.
- Ongoing collaboration and communication – Build and maintain strong vendor and cross functional relationships through timely communication and follow up. Communicate business objectives, initiatives, and results with other departments within the organization (merchants, inventory management, marketing, etc.) and vendor partners.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 2-4 years of Merchandising and/or Omni Channel experience.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

- Ability to create dynamic marketing and digital merchandising plans and clearly communicate and execute the vision
- Demonstrate strong people, problem solving, communication, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work on cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently, positively handle conflict, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Display detail-oriented approach to work
- Ability and proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to manipulate data to drive and expedite project analyses and completion
- Ability to work overtime and travel when needed
