Coordinator, Payroll

Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for assisting in the timely and accurate input, processing, and maintenance of payroll hours and data.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

  • Research and respond to payroll related inquires, including responding to calls and emails from team members and managers. Respond with urgency based on payroll deadlines.
  • Meet established payroll timelines and deadlines to distribute payroll information and reports.
  • Process payroll related changes, including current and historical edits, into the HR/Payroll database in accordance with TSC policies and procedures. 
  • Process off-cycle and mid-cycle pay changes, internal transfers, relocations, and other recurring one-time changes.
  • Assist in the processing and validation of bonus payments, relocation reimbursements, stock related transactions, and other one-time payments that are required to be reported on a paycheck. 
  • Assist with general administrative and support services related to local, state and federal tax.
  • Organize and maintain payroll records and reports in compliance with federal and state regulations and for easy access for auditing purposes.
  • Communicate and validate with managers regarding incomplete, incorrect, or missing payroll related information. 
  • Validate payouts for terminations as required by state law.
  • Review garnishment requests as submitted by government entities. Respond to garnishment requests and work with ADP to implement changes to garnishments.
  • Research direct deposit errors and determine appropriate course of action for providing missed payment to Team Members. Distributes pay card and payroll checks as necessary to provide wages to Team Members in the most efficient manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all payroll information, releasing only on a "need to know" basis to appropriate payroll, human resources, supervisory personnel, or to outside agencies with a signed release from the employee. 
     

Required Qualifications

Experience: 1-2 years payroll or office administration experience. Experience in processing payroll in a company with processing for multi-state locations is preferred.

Education: High School diploma is preferred.  Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Good organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Customer-oriented approach to work.
