Overall Job Summary

This position is a critical leadership role and will be responsible for overseeing the development and optimization of Order Management Systems (OMS) and Business to Business (B2B) systems for Tractor Supply. In this position, this individual will be instrumental in shaping and executing the technology strategy to enhance the customer experiences, OMS and B2B capabilities to achieve our business objectives.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

  • Develop and execute a technology vision for the portfolio, aligning technology initiatives with the overarching business goals of our OMNI Channel Retailer.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a technology roadmap that specifically focuses on Order Management Systems and B2B functionalities.
  • Lead and inspire a dynamic software engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement effective talent management strategies, including recruitment, training, and development, to build and maintain a high-performing team.
  • Oversee the design, development, and optimization of Order Management Systems to streamline and enhance the capabilities to support various channels.
  • Ensure seamless integration with other retail systems, such as inventory management and customer relationship management, to achieve a unified and efficient OMNI Channel experience.
  • Establish and maintain robust quality engineering processes, including testing methodologies and automated testing frameworks, to ensure the reliability and accuracy of software solutions.
  • Drive the development and enhancement of B2B capabilities like lead generation, quote to order conversion, bulk delivery and fulfillment options. 
  • Focus on building capabilities that will simply the customer post-purchase experiences.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of software development projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Implement agile methodologies and project management best practices to optimize development processes.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing regular updates on project statuses and addressing any concerns or issues.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and support, to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends and leverage them to deliver.
  • Introduce innovative solutions and technologies to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of our platform.
     

Required Qualifications

Experience: 10+ years of overall engineering experience including a minimum of 5 years of management and leadership experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred from an accredited college or university. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
 

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

  • 10+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems and applications, including architecture, design, development, and performance tuning/production troubleshooting.
  • Possess a blend of business to have a big-picture vision as well as the drive and attention to detail that transforms strategy into action.
  • Proven track record of building and executing technology roadmaps.
  • Strong background in Sterling OMS, Blue Yonder, Fulfillment and B2B capabilities.
  • Expertise in leading diverse, geographically distributed teams and in navigating the complexities associated with different locations and time zones.
  • Mastery of modern software development practices, including agile and lean tenets, CI/CD, and the broader DevOps movement with demonstrated improvements to software delivery performance.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders and translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and grow large high performing teams to meet business objectives and quality standards.
