Director, Benefits, Health & Wellness

Overall Job Summary

Hybrid:  Defined as coming into the office 2-3 days/weekly

The Director of Benefits, Health & Wellness is responsible for the design, implementation, and communication of the Tractor Supply Company (TSC) benefits strategy, ensuring the company’s programs are competitive, sustainable, scalable, and meet all of the legal requirements. The director will work closely with our benefits vendors to evaluate their programs/offering with an emphasis on continuous process improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration and communication of our health, welfare, wellness, and retirement programs. 
  • Partner with leadership to leverage benefits programs to meet organizational objectives. 
  • Develop benefits philosophy and supporting policies and practices. 
  • Analyze current benefits programs. Ensure alignment with TSC’s business strategy, market competitiveness, and cost-effectiveness to optimize the company’s ability to attract and retain top talent. 
  • Maintain current knowledge of related government rules and regulations, including Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) and other applicable laws and regulations. Oversee compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the management of our benefit vendor relationships, benefits contracts and bid negotiation.
  • Plan, forecast, and control benefit plan and department budget. 
  • Lead the communication, education and marketing of the benefits program. 
     

Required Qualifications

Experience: 10 years of experience in Benefits management or oversite capacity.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.  Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Professional Certifications: CEBS preferred.

  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Ability to lead and manage multi-level staff.
