HR Systems - Product Owner
Overall Job Summary
The HR Technology Product Owner is responsible for the roadmap, enhancement backlog, and day-to-day performance of specific HR technology modules within Tractor Supply's people platform ecosystem. This role translates HR strategy and frontline feedback into system functionality that drives adoption, compliance, and improved team member experiences. Product areas include SuccessFactors (EC, Comp, Performance, Learning, Recruiting), Kronos, ADP, and related tools.
The Product Owner partners closely with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), HR Ops, IT, vendors, and end users to deliver features, resolve issues, and prioritize improvements. This is not a back-office admin role — it's a delivery-focused, user-centered role for someone who wants to own outcomes, not just process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
· Maintain and prioritize the product backlog for your assigned platform(s), including new features, enhancements, fixes, and UX improvements.
· Align the roadmap to HR strategies and pain points by partnering with HR COEs (e.g., Total Rewards, Talent, Field HR) and SSC stakeholders.
· Work with the Sr. Manager of HR Tech Platforms to shape platform-level roadmaps and coordinate sequencing across modules.
· Lead product discovery in partnership with COEs, IT, and configuration partners.
· Translate user needs into clear requirements, user stories, and test cases.
· Validate new features through UAT, feedback loops, and adoption metrics.
· Serve as the point of contact for HR business owners regarding system behavior, upcoming changes, and enhancement prioritization.
· Facilitate feedback sessions, demos, and solutioning workshops with end users and functional leads.
· Balance competing priorities across business units by making transparent trade-offs.
· Own intake and triage for enhancement requests within your module area.
· Ensure design standards, documentation, and testing protocols are followed.
· Partner with IT and vendors on platform upgrades, releases, and break/fix cycles.
· Proactively identify friction points and recommend system or process optimizations.
· Support rollout of changes through training materials, knowledge transfer, and hands-on guidance.
· Monitor user sentiment and adoption rates, iterating as needed.
