Manager, Field Improvement
Overall Job Summary
This position is responsible for identifying, recommending, implementing, and improving store operations processes, working with management to implement projects to increase productivity, and providing guidance and expertise. The Field Improvement Manager will be a subject matter expert in field operations with an emphasis on process creation, procedural refinement, and retail project management. The Field Improvement Manager will oversee all aspects of key projects and Strategic initiatives which will contribute to the continued growth of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Serves as the lead for retail process improvement resource/consultant for all elements of the retail process, including the company’s strategic initiatives.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (for example, Store Operations, Merchandising) to develop the operational strategy to simplify processes; provide guidance and expertise on company policies and procedures; ensure proper controls, tools, and materials are present to support behavior change
- Develop, review and/or adjust SOPs to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Define and develop policies and procedures by balancing our proven business model with industry innovations
- Strategically introduce new processes and technology while ensuring that enough resources are available to meet project goals.
- Teach, coach and train to enhance operational execution and efficiency with the entire Field Operations Team
- Lead Field design, testing and deployment
- Create and implement comprehensive project plans ensuring that project deliverables are achieved on time and in line with budgetary guidelines.
- Perform Store observations and create detailed observations notes and recommendations
- Maintain current Tractor Way Program, including all communication and enhancements
- Create and provide executive report outs and presentations.
- Proactively refine operations as the field liaison allowing stores to be easier to shop, easier to manage, and more profitable by eliminating unnecessary procedures, automating applicable tasks, and simplifying actions whenever possible.
- Responsible for providing business analysis, measurements, and reporting using internal data as well as independent external sources to measure the effectiveness of both current operations and specific project deliverables.
- Provide strategic and tactical leadership in retail operations that ensure financial goals, improved efficiencies and customer satisfaction meet or exceed expectations.
- Monitor store operations to ensure the highest quality of products and services.
- Maintain program documentation.
- Assist with program communications
Required Qualifications
Experience: 6+ years of Retail experience required, Retail and Corporate experience preferred. Continuous Improvement and Process Management Preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
- Operational process improvement, policy creation, visual merchandising, category management, and/or financial analysis experience is a plus Retail experience preferred.
- General knowledge of process improvement or continuous improvement best practices.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Work varied hours, days, nights, and weekends as business dictates.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office products.
