This position is responsible for overseeing the streamlined operation of the Information Technology (IT) Accounting/Finance/Human Resources (HR) Systems team. This position’s principal goals are to maintain and manage Accounting/Finance/HR Systems application portfolios and provide IT support for all related processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Authorize and oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support of all software applications supporting Tractor Supply Company’s (TSC) Accounting/Finance/Procurement/AP and Treasury including the following applications:
- SAP support and Management, point-of-sale systems, sales audit, POSDTA/POSDM, e-commerce systems, data warehouse, intranet, and Manhattan Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Coordinate with specified business unit teams to understand requirements and provide IT solutions.
- Manage the staffing of the IT Accounting/Finance/Procurement/Treasury teams, including Inventory control, FI-MM , Cost center/ Profit Center Accounting, Fixed Assets, PO and receipts, 3-way match on invoices, Month-end and year end processes.
- Participate in IT department operational and tactical planning, including business requirements and project planning, as well as organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
- Define and communicate project milestones, service level agreements, and resource allocation to IT management, department leads, support staff, and end users.
- Review the performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements.
- Provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance TSC’s Accounting/Finance/Procurement/Treasury systems functionality.
- Conduct research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts.
- Participate in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, project management, and software development life cycle (SDLC) standards, purchasing, and service provision.
- Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the department leaders, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
- Strong functional knowledge of accounting business processes such as allocations, inventory control functions, ARIBA, Invoice Imaging, 3-way invoice matching, etc.
- Good understanding of SDLC methodology
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools, including Cognos, Business Objects, and Crystal Reports.
- Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
- Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures, and project lifecycle models.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate ideals in both a technical and user-friendly language.
- Ability to conduct research into application development issues and products.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
