Planner, Intl Transportation

Overall Job Summary

The International Transportation Planner will monitor and execute the cost effective and timely movement of import goods from origin to destination.  This position will work with both internal and external parties to ensure efficient movement of goods in accordance with the purchase order. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

  • Develops and implements transportation plans for international shipments, considering factors like cost and on-time performance
  • Managing relationships with freight forwarder(s) and carriers to ensure performance standards are met
  • Identifies and resolves any issues that arise during the transportation process
  • Analyzes transportation costs, identifies opportunities for cost reduction, and implements strategies to meet budget
  • Maintain accurate freight information and updates internal systems based on changes during a shipments journey
  • Communicates container flow updates to internal stakeholders for Event merchandise
  • Recommends enhancements to online visibility tool for further efficiencies
  • Runs reporting and forecasting based on business needs
  • Develop and manage relationships with current and prospective service providers
  • Establish, implement and manage origin consolidation programs

Required Qualifications

Experience: 3 years of logistics or international business experience.   

 

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field is preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power BI.
  • Agile mindset with a positive attitude
  • Strong and demonstrated communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand your impact to others and contribute to the bigger picture
  • Ability to self-motivate, work with a sense of urgency, and to prioritize tasks
  • Capable of working in a cross-functional environment
  • Understanding relevant market information and impacts

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work independently and handle conflict in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong and demonstrated communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment, while also building strong partner and interdepartmental relationships through listening and informing.
