Senior Business Analyst

Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing assessments of current business processes primarily surrounding inventory accuracy and the processing of article related goods movements activities. This position is also responsible for identifying potential weaknesses, validating the impact of those weaknesses, and partnering with various departments to implement solutions to any identified issues or weaknesses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

  • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to current business processes surrounding inventory accuracy and article related goods movements activities.
  • Identify potential weaknesses in the current process. Conduct investigations of the identified areas and perform testing to validate the impact of the weaknesses. Partner with various business units to develop and implement practical solutions.
  • Summarize and prioritize the opportunities with appropriate high-level data analysis.
  • Research and recommend process corrections and automated applications to replace manual processes that are causing inaccuracies in the inventory.
  • Monitor and perform post-implementation audits to assess effectiveness of a new solution.
  • Develop and implement routine monitoring and reporting procedures for management to ensure compliance and continued effectiveness of the solution.
  • Participate in work groups, task forces, committees, and project teams as a department liaison.
  • Keep current on emerging trends and best practices within Tractor Supply Company (TSC) and the retail industry.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 5 years of experience in the retail industry is preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field is preferred. Master of Business Administration (MBA) is desired. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

Ability to investigate, understand, evaluate, and document business processes. 
Ability to evaluate and understand the impact of proposed solutions. 
Proficiency using Microsoft Office. 
Prior experience with Systems, Applications, and Processes (SAP) data management system.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills 
Ability to travel as needed.
