Overall Job Summary
The Digital Communications Specialist will be a member of the Communications Team with responsibility for creating and managing digital-related internal communication projects. He/She will positively impact execution, communication effectiveness and overall Team Member experience by developing and executing multimedia internal communication campaigns. As a member of the Communications Team, this person will assist with graphic design, digital media, and ensure consistency and accuracy in all publications and digital content. He/She will maintain content on The Barn and update existing online Team Member resources as needed. Some of their major responsibilities will include creating web content, audio messaging and video messaging around in store programs, company updates and rollouts of new processes/programs that directly affect Team Members. Candidates must have strong creativity, attention to detail and project management skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Develops a consistent multi-media internal communications strategy, thereby enhancing our internal communication effectiveness, programs and services.
- Organizes and manages multi-media channels in order to reach planned goals and objectives.
- Develops content for Barn Intranet site including drafting and editing web graphics and content.
- Manages all content on The Barn, internal Intranet Web Site.
- Produces new innovative, user-friendly content for TSC Team Members to improve overall Team Member experience and Store Operations execution. (i.e., Audio messages, videos, and audio presentations).
- Enhances user interface and functionality of The Barn and other multi-media outreach efforts; ensures internal audiences are reached by effectively utilizing the all tools available. This includes but is not limited to Theatro (in ear communications device), The Barn (intranet site) and video messaging.
- Creates and executes multi-media communication strategies around key company objectives, programs and rollouts.
- Develops and continues to improve internal communication vehicles such as BPU, Memos, talking points, and other informational materials to ensure effective communications with internal departments and Team Members in the field.
- Identifies and evaluates information that will further TSC mission and values. This involves making observations, assessments, and recommendations.
- Works with a wide range of project formats including flat, video, 3D and web; works with computer-aided design.
- Assesses the content that is being produced and ensures that it is aligned with TSC values, is in compliance and adheres to multi-media standards, policies and all relevant rules, procedures and guidelines.
- Develops scripts, treatments and concepts that connect with Team Members and recommends effective technical solutions for delivery of these through multi-media channels.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years of digital media and/or communications experience
Education: Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media or related field. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
- Strong process development and writing skills.
- Experience with modern digital communication methods and curiosity to explore and evolve them to serve Tractor Supply needs.
- Previous experience working in a complex and fast moving environment.
- Experience with (CAD) software, video and photo editing programs, Web development software and desktop and electronic publishing software.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities and possess the ability to work under stress to meet competing deadlines.
