Sr Architect, IT
Overall Job Summary
The Sr Architect position is responsible for leading domain technology plans to align with enterprise goals, business plans and business processes for systems within complex functional areas. Additional responsibilities include collaboration with architects on cross-functional designs and mentoring team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Analyze, develop, and support the development of domain roadmaps that align with goals, business plans, and business processes.
- Lead project planning activities for a development or engineering team to meet enterprise schedule.
- Lead creation of project design documentation and provide technical oversight to ensure successful delivery.
- Lead maintenance of domain standards complying with enterprise standards, ensuring solutions are optimally designed, secure, well performing and integrated with other solutions.
- Lead evaluation of new technology for use in domain.
- Create documentation of domain technology used to perform business processes.
- Work with cross-functional teams, and other IT and business stakeholders, to ensure the successful planning and execution of systems projects.
- Provide leadership and guidance in the design and implementation of functional solutions to gain competitive advantage in support of business needs and strategies.
- Responsible for evaluating emerging technologies in the domain, development of domain-specific roadmaps, and providing technical oversight for solution design and implementation.
- Review technical specification documents created by the development team and mentor team members.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
12 years of Information Technology experience.
2+ years of experience in IT architecture for larger organizations.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

- Advanced knowledge of diverse technical configurations, technologies, and processing environments.
- Advanced ability to comprehend business requirements to ensure technical directions are supportive and consistent within the company.
- Advanced ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
- Advanced critical thinking skills with the ability to develop completely new problem-solving approaches and formulate innovative solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of SOA and object-oriented analysis and design.
- Advanced knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes.
- Advanced ability to conduct analysis sessions and may contribute to “Closure Documents.”
- Strong ability to estimate the financial impact of technical architecture alternatives.
