Sr Data Scientist, Marketing
Overall Job Summary
This position is responsible for driving data-driven insights and developing advanced analytics solutions that increase Marketing effectiveness and impact. You will lead the creation of interactive dashboards, conduct ad hoc analyses, and develop predictive models to deepen the understanding of customer behavior and optimize marketing efforts. This role is pivotal in translating complex data into actionable insights, helping the organization make data-informed decisions and stay ahead in customer personalization and precision marketing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Design and build interactive, user-friendly dashboards to monitor key business metrics, providing real-time insights for marketing teams. Use tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Power BI, or others to visualize and communicate complex data effectively.
- Perform in-depth, on-demand analyses to address pressing business questions and support strategic decision-making. Analyze large datasets to identify trends, uncover insights, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Develop, refine, and maintain predictive models (using Python or Databricks) to forecast customer behavior, optimize marketing campaigns, and drive customer segmentation.
- Lead the design and execution of A/B tests and other experiments to validate hypotheses, assess marketing strategies, and continuously improve business outcomes.
- Lead data science team with best practices and guide others in their modeling projects
- Maintain a broad exposure to the wider ecosystem of AI / Machine Learning and ensure our team is pushing toward the most optimal solutions.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously including development of new technologies and maintenance of existing framework.
- Leadership: Provide strategic direction and support growth of direct and indirect reports. Models TSC Values and creates positive environment that empowers the team to maximize returns to the organization. This person needs to be able to lead business engagements to identify analytics solutioning and influence adoption.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or predictive modeling, with a focus on CRM, transactional data, digital marketing, or customer behavior analysis.
- Proven experience in dashboard creation, reporting, presenting, and performing ad hoc analysis to support business needs.
- Strong understanding of the Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), or Marketing Agency sectors is a plus.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
- Experience with programming langagues such as SQL,Python, Spark.
- Dashboarding experience and familiarity with visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Power BI.
- Experience working with clickstream, website/app, and Ad Tech platform data experience (e.g. Meta, Google, Pinterest etc.) highly desired
- Knowledge of A/ B testing methods; capable of designing a controlled test design, running the test and providing measurement results
- Ability to frame business questions and create an analytics solution using statistical or other advanced analytics methodologies
- Experience with marketing analytic concepts such as customer lifetime value, market basket analysis, customer profile creation a plus
- Experience using Azure, AWS, or another cloud compute platform a plus
- Experience with marketing loyalty programs, email, direct mail, and digital marketing a plus
- Must possess high degree of aptitude in communicating both verbally and written complex analysis results to Senior & Executive Leadership
