Sr Developer, IT App Integr

Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for designing, developing and/or configuring, building, reviewing, and unit testing software and solutions, as well as being a liaison with business users and other IT teams to provide technical and functional software solutions. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

  • Develop and/or configure, build, review and unit test software/solutions. 
  • Partner with developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and validating solutions that meet business requirements. 
  • Meet with technical leads, architects and vendor partners to determine project scope and vision, set system goals, identify and resolve system issues, ensure the system is implemented as designed and in adherence to the implementation guidelines. 
  • Partner with the business analysts to review and refine business requirements into core system capabilities. 
  • Prototype new requirements for the purpose of enhancing technical functionalities and information process flow.  
  • Participate and make recommendations on the technical and functional direction of their domain.
  • Assist in QA efforts on tasks worked by providing input for test cases and supporting test case execution. 
  • Mentor team members on new technologies in area of expertise.  
  • Support enterprise teams to ensure changes are properly documented, communicated, audited, and deployed in compliance with established procedures.  
  • Participate in 24x7 rotational technical support to solve business problems and documents resolution.
     

Required Qualifications

Experience: 5 - 9 years’ experience in a software development position (Java preferred).  3+ years’ experience working with Unix/Linux.  

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field from an accredited college or university.  Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Professional Certifications: WebMethods certification preferred.

High Demand IT Specialized skills: Applications Development 

Platform knowledge (UNIX, Linux, Windows): Linux/Unix/ Windows
 

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

  • Technical and analytical ability in any programming language (Java is preferred). 
  • Strong knowledge of XML technologies and integration is preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of SQL (especially) and NoSQL technologies is preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of EDI processes and standards (ANSI, EDIFACT).
  • Experience with software development lifecycle methodology (SDLC).
