Sr Engineer, Product
Overall Job Summary
The Sr. Product Engineer will be responsible for leading the technical contributions which include the completion of assigned technical activities directed toward significant impact to the business. This role will be responsible for collecting and maintaining product specifications for all Exclusive Brand Products. Working closely with the Lead Product Engineer, Product Managers, Product Developers, Buyers, Vendors and Quality Assurance, to ensure the delivery of the products to meet the expectations of the TSC customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Applies innovative and advanced technical skills to provide support to new product development, product modification, application development.
- Communicate with Overseas and Domestic factories regarding technical development, fit & finish and quality.
- Provides support on products to all members of the Product Development team, to expand opportunities and reduce risks.
- Creates, analyzes and interprets results of technical work.
- Recommends and develops solutions for technical and product problems.
- Utilizes knowledge of technical products, and market information and understanding of project scope, expectations, and requirements to contribute to the development of project strategy.
- Solid understanding of the Tractor Supply customer and the lifestyle the lead.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 4+ years of experience in product design and development
Education: Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited University in Science, Engineering and/or Technology. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Professional Certifications: None
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
- Proficiency in SolidWorks software, PCs and MS Office; excellent Excel skills critical
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects to achieve productivity and business goals
- Ability to promote teamwork, solve problems and manage complex relationships
- Experience in Retail; Sales, Management or Buying exposure a plus
Working Conditions
- Hybrid / Flexible working conditions
- Travel up to 20%, this will include both domestic & international
