Sr. Admin, IT Database
Overall Job Summary
This positon is responsible for the recoverability, availability, performance, and compliance of Tractor Supply’s database environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Design, implement, and monitor backup and recovery procedures for database systems.
- Participate in 24x7 on call rotations.
- Design and implement high availability, business continuity, and disaster recovery solutions for database systems.
- Coordinate and schedule with application team for code migrations, database maintenance, and enhancements.
- Configure automated proactive and reactive monitoring of database systems.
- Design, implement, audit, and remediate database compliance and security requests.
- Anticipate business needs for database systems around resources, performance, and recoverability.
- Document processes and procedures for the database team for installation, configuration, and security.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to team members.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5-9 years’ experience in Information Technology.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or MIS from an accredited college or university. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
- Strong ability with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
- Strong ability to work with big data concepts (Hadoop, NoSQL) is preferred.
- Strong ability to work with engineered database machines (Exadata, PureData).
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
