Sr. Manager, Digital Strategy & Analytics

Overall Job Summary

This position will play a crucial role in building the Digital team. As a driven merchandising strategy and analytics professional, this leader will set the operating model and technology to deliver the insights needed to continue growing the Digital business. This role will drive the analytics program, set the vision, and drive business priorities. In partnership with stakeholders across Digital business leadership, as well as our Product, Data, and Design teams, this position will co-develop the roadmap to support the business needs, build best in class tools that enhance the analytics team’s capabilities, and drive innovation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

  • Responsible for analytical analysis, development of strategic options, testing, and ultimately influencing Digital and business leadership on important strategic decisions.
  • Responsible for the development of business intelligence reporting and analytics to understand business performance, uncover root causes, and provide visibility to leadership to drive results.
  • Responsible for the development of processes, reporting, and management of team members to build new and optimize existing programs/site capabilities to drive revenue and reduce costs.
  • Work with business partners and other stakeholders to prioritize information/reporting needs and prioritizes activities for direct reports.
  • Drive the adoption of data science-driven mechanisms and AI/ML models to continuously evaluate and improve catalog data quality.
  • Improve operational and cost efficiencies by building process and tools that can scale, using technology.
  • Define, develop and maintain metrics that will help us measure and understand business performance and enable data driven decision making.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team, encouraging experimentation with new data sources, technologies, and approaches to help making better pricing and assortment decisions.
     

Required Qualifications

Experience: 7+ years of experience on analytics teams at Fortune 500 retailers and 3-4 years of management/supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership experience. Established experience in business analytics, data mining, statistical analysis, statistical programming languages (i.e.: SAS, R) and related fields.

Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Statistics, Information Systems, Advanced Analytics, or equivalent experience. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Professional Certifications: 
 

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

  • Advanced working knowledge of SQL
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Advanced Analytics - Applied Econometrics, Advanced Calculus, Statistical Methods, Data Visualization, Decision Analytics & Optimization, ML, Big Data, Social Network Analytics
  • Languages: R, Python (Pandas, Seaborn, Scikit-learn), SQL
  • Techniques: Statistical Analysis, Visualization, Optimization, Machine Learning, Big Data, Data Warehouse, NLP
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; adjusts tone and message to appropriate audiences. 
  • High ability to nimbly multi-task and be flexible with change.
  • Proactive, positive, and self-initiating attitude.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
  • Display an analytical approach to problem solving and a detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Company business, customers, brand, processes, and goals.
