Supervisor, Fixture Planning
Overall Job Summary
The Fixture Planning Supervisor is responsible for leading the Fixture Planning team in support of strategic business initiatives, including new store openings, remodels, merchandising programs, and sales-driving initiatives. This position oversees fixture planning, sourcing, inventory management, procurement, vendor performance, project execution, and team development to ensure fixtures are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with company merchandising and operational objectives. The Supervisor serves as a key liaison among Merchandise Presentation, Store Planning, Construction, Merchandising, Store Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to drive effective fixture solutions across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Lead, coach, and develop a team, providing direction, performance management, workload prioritization, and professional development.
- Oversee fixture planning and allocation for new stores, remodels, relocations, and sales-driving initiatives, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within approved budgets.
- Establish and maintain fixture inventory strategies, forecasting methodologies, and replenishment plans to support current and future business needs while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs.
- Direct fixture sourcing and procurement activities, including supplier selection, contract negotiations, competitive bid processes, and vendor performance management.
- Develop and implement fixture planning standards, processes, and governance to improve efficiency, consistency, cost control, and service levels.
- Lead the team in partnering with Merchandising, Visual Presentation, Store Planning, Construction, Supply Chain, Finance, and Store Operations to identify fixture requirements and develop solutions that support strategic business objectives.
- Monitor fixture project budgets, capital expenditures, invoice reconciliation, and financial reporting to ensure compliance with company policies and accurate financial tracking.
- Evaluate fixture programs and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvements, innovation, and quality enhancements.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for fixture-related issues and provide timely resolution to support field operations and project execution.
- Develop reporting and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure fixture inventory health, project performance, supplier effectiveness, and team productivity.
- Support strategic planning and long-range capital initiatives by providing fixture expertise, budget forecasting, and operational recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, procurement requirements, and internal controls related to fixture planning and procurement activities.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
- 5–7 years of experience in retail operations, merchandising, fixture planning, store development, sourcing, procurement, inventory management, or related business functions.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership, supervisory, project leadership, or team management experience preferred.
- Experience managing multiple projects, budgets, vendors, and cross-functional partnerships in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with fixture design, manufacturing, sourcing, or retail store development strongly preferred.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Project management and organizational skills.
- Strong financial acumen, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management capabilities.
- Proficiency with SAP, Ariba, Microsoft Excel, and other business applications.
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans, planograms, engineering drawings, and fixture specifications.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution.
